Located approximately an hour and a half from the Blue-Ridge Mountains and three and a half hours from Charleston and the South Carolina beaches, the Upstate offers the best of both worlds. And with an average of 223 sunny days per year, residents have plenty of chances to enjoy the numerous lakes and parks throughout the Upstate.
The Upstate is also home to a number of professional sporting events, including the BMW Charity Pro-Am Golf Tournament; the Greenville Drive baseball team, a minor league affiliate of the Boston Red Sox; the Carolina Panthers’ Training Camp; and hosted the 2006 USA Cycling Pro Championships and the 2008 Bassmaster Classic.
