When my company offered me a promotion to transfer from St. Louis to Greenville, my first thought was, “Where in the world is Greenville, South Carolina?” But, I came down for the interview and was amazed by the beauty, the friendliness of the people and the overall quality of life. That was 14 years ago, and Greenville has only gotten better since. I haven’t regretted moving here once.

My son and his family live in the Greenville area. We have been visiting him for the last 10 years and have had the opportunity to experience all aspects of the upstate. First, the city of Greenville is outstanding. Whetther you are a young couple or retirees there is something to do for everyone. The restaurants, entertainment, out door activities and rides into the foothills of the Smokies are all fabulous.
As a business man, I was surprised at the growth in this area. It seems like a wonderful place to conduct business. Top notch colleges and universties are nearby and the business climate seems open and accepting.
My son and his family love living in the Greenville area and we enjoy visitng them. There is always plenty to do.

When I first drove into the city of Greenville on I-385, one of my first thoughts was “wow, so this is why they call it Greenville”!  Trees were everywhere which is unusual that close in to a city.  I eventually moved here from another upstate city and there was no comparison.  Greenville wins hands down on everything.  It is my pleasure to live and work here helping families relocate to our wonderful area and local people buy and sell homes.

My wife and I moved to the Greenville area almost 30 years ago.  At that time, Greenville was starting to make a transition from being the “textile capital of the world” with a manufacturing base to a more technical and professional based economy.  With a comparatively low cost of living, reasonable tax rates, low unemployment, continuing education opportunities, friendly people, a moderate four season climate, and a beautiful area in the foothills of the mountains, Greenville proved to be the perfect area to continue our careers and raise a family.  Now, as grandparents approaching retirement, we appreciate the cultural and entertainment opportunities in a diverse economy that we are proud to call home. 

I moved to the UPstate in 1988 from the midwest for a temporary job assignment.  I spent my first winter here and never moved back.  THe UPstate has all four seasons but none of them are too extreme.  Since then I have had extremely fulfiling professional and volunteer careers that has givenreat meaning to my life.  The people in Spartanburg,South Carolina are the nicest people in the world!

I moved my family here a number of years ago. Though it was a corporate transfer, my wife and I were blown away by the scenic beauty of the Upstate, the cultural and entertainment opportunities, and the friendly neighbors. We never looked back, and accepted the transfer. Now that I have a Real Estate business, it is easy to “sell” the Upstate to home buyers, since I have been sold on this area for years!

We discovered Greenville “by accident”, but once we’d visited, we couldn’t get the place out of our minds.  For years as we traveled about on vacations, we would write down features we liked in each locale, gradually developing our “wish list” for what we wanted when we relocated to our dream location.  Greenville fulfilled all our requirements - it had about 95% of everything we were looking for - mild weather, colleges, sports, theater, an international community, continuing educational events, water, forests, close to airports, excellent restaurants….  We bought a place right downtown and can hardly wait to move into it.  Now we just need jobs!

In January 2008 my mother and I decided to start our own cake company, Cake Squared Inc.. We wasted no time getting started. With much respect and love for our community and downtown area we had a great desire to be a part of the “Main Street” elite. However, the more we researched,  the more we were drawn to the West Greenville area.

The process of looking at buildings and determining them up-to-code was gruelling, but with help (cheerful attitudes, willingness to meet us anywhere, helpful opinions, knowledge of community, codes, laws and area history) from Greenville’s licensing/ building/ health etc. departments we soon found ourselves in our own building! .

We couldn’t have done it without them -at least not as quickly, efficiently, or affectively.

They were very encouraging about helping us create a successful business in the Greenville area.

We have been open for 5 months and want to thank everyone and Greenville for their support.
