Having graduated from Clemson University and lived in Greenville for two years, I was blown away by the people of Upstate South Carolina. From their intellectual prowess to their infectious personalities, the citizens of Upstate South Carolina are top notch.

Now that my family has relocated, we come back to the Upstate often as visitors. Though we may live elsewhere for now, our hearts remain in Upstate South Carolina.

We discovered Greenville “by accident”, but once we’d visited, we couldn’t get the place out of our minds.  For years as we traveled about on vacations, we would write down features we liked in each locale, gradually developing our “wish list” for what we wanted when we relocated to our dream location.  Greenville fulfilled all our requirements - it had about 95% of everything we were looking for - mild weather, colleges, sports, theater, an international community, continuing educational events, water, forests, close to airports, excellent restaurants….  We bought a place right downtown and can hardly wait to move into it.  Now we just need jobs!

I came to the Upstate to attend Furman University and loved it so much that I decided to look for jobs in the area after graduation.

I was blown away by my daughter’s experience with the Greenville County School District.  We enrolled her in Rudolph Gordon for the 2nd Grade with trepidation due to her anxiety and nervousness.  The faculty and staff took a personal interest in my child and she was given the best personalized instruction based on a state-of- the-art assessment provided by the county.  There was never a time we felt it to be an inconvenience…in fact we have felt a priority for the 3 years she has attended this school.  I have heard similar stories across the county - this dedication to our students is appreciated.  Thanks Greenville!
